1977 Libertarian Party Aids Charles Koch’s Cato Institute in Fundraising Efforts

This document is a 1977 letter from the new National Director of the Libertarian Party, Robert Meier, to the former National Director, Ed Crane, who left to become the President of the Cato Institute, which Charles Koch launched. The letter shows the Party head flagging a wealthy industrialist as a potential donor to Cato due to his disenchantment with the older libertarian-style organization called the Foundation for Economic Education, which was and is led by Leonard Reed. In the letter, Meier also describes potential mailing lists Cato could use to reach more donors.
